| What Kids Need to Succeed is built on a simple idea: that there are Four Foundations that every child needs to learn in order to fulfill his or her full potential as an adult. They are: - Refuse to FailKids are expected to overcome adversity and deal with the consequences of their choices. Persistence, self-reliance and determination are rewarded; whining isnt.
- Work HardBy insisting that kids work for everything they get, parents instill a strong work ethic. Kids must work for money or to reach their goals.
- Develop Discipline Kids are required to meet certain expectations and follow certain rules. Parents make the rules and penalties clear and act with consistency. There is no room for negotiation.
- Give BackKids are expected to show compassion and kindness and give of their time, ideas and money to others when they can.
